Ester Fagnani, 98, lifelong resident of Tuckahoe died on June 4, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Joseph. Loving mother of George and Joseph Jr. Cherished grandmother of Michael, Julie, and Chris Fagnani. Ester was born on January 8, 1914 in Tuckahoe. Ester worked for many years at Cornell’s True Value Hardware and she also worked for many years with the Eastchester Girl Scouts.
The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER Tuesday, June 05, 7- 9pm and Wednesday, June 06, 2-4 and 7pm-9pm. Peter Egan, 82, of Mount Vernon died on June 4, 2012. Beloved wife of Mary Egan. Loving father of Peter, Mary (Anthony) Mastronardi, James, Paul, and the late Michael. Cherished grandfather of Kristen and Michael Mastronardi. Dear brother of Maureen Hillen. Loving uncle to several nieces and nephews.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a plumber for 32 years, then worked for the Post Office for 12 years, retiring in 1992. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and the NY Giants. His only loving concern in life was for his wife, children, and family.

Meg was a small business owner (Texaco Station, Carafiello’s, Uncle Meg’s Too Restaurants) and proud WWII vet (silver star recipient), lifelong and loyal friend and dedicated family man. Carl Albers

Carl W. Albers, age 80, of Springfield, MO, died peacefully with his family around him on June 17, 2012, at James River Care and Rehabilitation Center. Carl was born to Carla and William Albers in Secaucus, NJ, on November, 15, 1931. He is survived by his wife, Lolita, and children, Tracy Ansley (husband John Ansley) and Nathaniel Albers (wife Rebecca Wells-Albers) and granddaughter Wren Ansley; nieces, Maryam Afif (husband Fred Wendt), Shameen Afif-Rider (husband Rob Rider) and brother-in-law Peter Afif. He was predeceased by his parents, twin sister, Carla Afif and brother, Alan Albers.
Carl graduated from New York University and received his master’s degree from and did additional graduate work at Columbia University. He served in the US Army and army reserves from 1956 to 1962. He taught history at Concordia College, Bronxville, NY, for approximately 30 years where he met Lolita when she joined the faculty. They married December 18, 1966, and lived in Tuckahoe, NY, until he retired. They lived briefly in Rhinebeck, NY, and then moved to Springfield in 1996.
The number of people who helped Carl during his final days are too many to list here, but the family especially thanks the staff at James River Care and Rehabilitation Center and Hospice Compassus.
A memorial service was held at 2:30 pm Thursday, June 21, with the Reverend Suzy Lynch officiating, at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel, 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield. Visitation will follow immediately after the service. Service at Westchester Funeral Home, Eastchester, on Friday, July 6 at 2pm, Rev. Andrea Raynor officiating.

Antoinette S. D’Arco Covell, Passed away July 3, 2012 at Providence Rest Nursing Home in the Bronx, NY. Antoinette was born on October 8, 1918 to the late Pasqualina and James Scotti of Yonkers. She graduated from Gorton High School in 1935. She worked in the insurance field in various offices until her retirement in 1994. Antoinette married John D’Arco at St. Ann’s Church in Yonkers in 1947. She is survived by her son John D’Arco (Luann), a grandson John D’Arco (Suzanne), great granddaughter Gianna Marie D’Arco. Antoinette is also survived by her sister in-law Mary Scotti , her nephew James Scotti and niece Karen Scotti. Antoinette was predeceased by her three brothers, John, George, and James Scotti. Along with her parents she was predeceased by her first husband John D’Arco and her second husband Sheldon Covell. Visitation will be held Thursday July 05, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at THE WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC., EASTCHESTER.

Al Yorizzo of Yonkers, NY died on July 14, 2012. Born on June 8, 1936, son of the late Mary and Tony Yorizzo. He was predeceased by his first wife Arlene Siconolfi and his second wife Carol Bird. He is survived by his five children: Lisa (Nicolas), Stephanie, Allyn (John), Jack (Tracey) and Debbie.
He is also survived by his sisters Peggy Lettieri (Tony), Rita Jaeger (Bill, deceased), and Maryann Yorizzo of Tuckahoe. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren Alyssa, Kalyn, Stephen, Georgia, Alex, Olivia, Nicholas, Kristen, Brian and Logan. He was respected by a wealth of loving friends.
